CHRISTOPHER J. BARBER

Attorney & Counsellor-At-Law

Christopher J. Barber has been focusing on various estate planning and wealth preservation strategies for over two decades. Chris hung his shingle immediately after passing the bar with his solo practice in South East Houston. Estate planning became an interest after his father, a financial planner in California, referred Texas financial planners to him when he opened his practice.

Chris has lived in Houston most of his life and attended J. Frank Dobie High School before starting college at San Jacinto College South and Central Campuses. Chris was student body class president at San Jacinto South and President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He then transferred to Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos to gain his bachelor degree in Criminal Justice.

While at SWT, he was an active member of the Theta Tau Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity and was honored with the chapter Balfour Award in 1987. He was also a Resident Assistance (RA) and a member of Golden Key Honor Society.

He attended Graduate school at Southwest Texas State and the University of Houston - Clear Lake before earning his law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston. During his third year at Thurgood Marshall, Chris was an intern for the Harris County District Attorney's Office. Chris has been focusing on Estate Planning, Probate and Medicaid Nursing Home Qualification since the mid 1990's.

Chris also has a law enforcement background working as a police supervisor for the City of Bellaire. He is an avid fan of aviation and has been a licensed pilot since 1983, a licensed earned while attending San Jacinto College Central Campus in Pasadena. He has built his own airplane, a Velocity SE, in which he enjoys flying and is a past President of Chapter 12, Houston Chapter Experimental Aviation Association (EAA).

keizel colorado

client services director

Keizel has worked as a Secretary in the Government Industry for young people, as an English Language teacher for both young children and adults, and currently as the Client Services Director at The Barber Law Office.
Since she was 18 years old, she has spent nearly 6 years working as a secretary, which has sharpened her abilities in office tasks such as document preparation, communication, marketing, and coordinating events. Since she was a young child, she has wanted to work in administration. She likes looking at people who work in corporations and imagining herself as one of them when she grows up.

Keizel majored in Education and English Language Studies in college while also working as a secretary to support herself. She became independent when she entered high school, and since then, she embarked on various adventures and challenges that have enriched her life, from having her first-ever job to having her two kids.

She currently intends to pursue and enroll in law school after being inspired and driven by her boss Chris, an exceptional and amazing person and an Estate Planning Attorney in Houston, Texas. As she continues to learn and develop her abilities to become a better Client Services Director, she admires her work.

She looks forward to where her life will take her as she is constantly growing and learning.
